Studio open from 5:30-9:00am (teacher assistance to 8:30am) (but not on Moon Days, see below)
Mysore style is an individualized method in which each student learns the ashtanga series one asana at a time. The focus is on personalized instruction, whereby anyone, from beginner to advanced practitioner, can learn and study together in one room at one time. There is NO expectation for beginners to have prior experience and this is NOT a three hour class! Simply show up between 5:30-8:30am....the teachers will show you the sequence one posture at a time (teacher assistance ends at 8:30am so beginners please arrive at or before 7:30am).

Ashtanga is a daily yoga practice, a system that calls for discipline and commitment in order to fully benefit from its teachings. Corresponding to Pattabhi Jois’s policy in Mysore, students at the Yoga Shala are asked to make a minimum one month commitment, with a consistent mysore practice of at least 3 times per week. This will best enable you to memorize the sequence of postures, and to fully realize the transformative benefits of this practice. If you are unsure about committing, please feel free to come and observe one class before deciding.
OUT OF TOWN students are welcome to drop in, providing they already have an established ashtanga practice.
