Assisting the Primary for Teachers:
In this seminar for teachers you will learn how to approach some key postures in the Ashtanga
Yoga Primary Series. You can only share what you directly experience so the process of teaching,
assisting and guiding students includes your personal level of awareness. While there is cookie
cutter method that applies universally to people in all situations, you will experiment with
communicating through hands-on assists during your teaching and during your yoga practice.

7-9 PM
Seminar: Meditation, Chanting & Asana Demonstration
Join Kino in a Guided group meditation followed by traditional
Sanskrit chants and a short yoga asana demonstration including postures from the first four
Ashtanga Yoga series. Then discuss Kino's contemporary approach to Yoga Philosophy, the
Ashtanga yoga tradition and yoga wisdom for daily life. Bring your questions and engage the
yoga lifestyle at the deepest level.

Intro to Second Series
Ashtanga Yoga's Second Series, called Nadi Shodhana, works to cleanse the nervous system
through a series of rigorous strength, backbending, twisting and hip opening postures. This
class makes the challenging postures of the Intermediate series accessible and approachable
to all interested practitioners. The inspired beginner will find easy, fun and approachable
techniques to some of Ashtanga yoga's most challenging postures, while the avid practitioner
and seasoned veteran will find new techniques to inspire their practice to new levels of precision.
Prior experience with Ashtanga yoga recommended.

SUNDAY
9 AM - 11 AM Mysore
1:30 - 4 PM Workshop
Breathe & Bandha: Moving Through the Meditative State
Inhalation and exhalation are two sides of the inner body. In this class learn how breathe is
the key to unlocking the mysteries of inner strength and accessing a calm, meditative mind.
Only by mastering the breathe will you gain true access to the power centers deep within your
pelvis, often referred to as the "bandhas". These energy locks are both physical muscles that
you can access and spiritual doors that you can walk through. Often the missing key to a flowing
practice, the integration of breathe and bandha lead the way to the discovery of limitless power
and lasting peace both in your yoga practice and in your life.
