For over the last 9 years I have been dedicated to the practice of Ashtanga Yoga and have found it crucial to overcoming injuries
sustained in two car accidents.
I truly believe that the system
of Ashtanga Yoga in its traditional form can move anyone through injuries and illness providing they learn to practice in a way that is beneficial to them. After my last car accident I found myself battling numerous injuries However, with dedication, patience and modifications I was able to bring myself back to a place of health even better than before the accident.
I decided to become a yoga instructor 5 years ago when I knew in my heart that this system would bring anyone back to a state of optimal health. I began instructing part-time in order to finish my Bsc. Nursing and found that teaching yoga was the best way for me to apply my nursing and yoga knowledge in a way that supports others to attaining optimal health. The energy and excitement I have for yoga stems from the idea that nursing is all about health prevention and promotion, which yoga allows one to attain. I find applying the tools of yoga and nursing can support anyone who is dedicated to the practice of finding health.
